Subtle domestic Alpaca/wild silk yarns for light and translucent knits.
Ruukin Kehräämö's single-strand Alpaca/wild silk yarn is produced at Mathildedal's spinning mill. It is made by spinning together approx. 90% alpaca fiber and approx. 10% wild silk. Each batch of yarn is unique, you won't find a similar yarn anywhere else.
Single strand Alpaca/wild silk yarn is a thin and sufficient yarn. It is at its best as a loose knit, knitted with 4−4.5 mm needles. The yarn is excellent for lace scarves and light knitwear.
The color dots of the yarn are created from wild silk dyed with natural colors. Alpaca fiber is undyed. The strength of the yarn varies slightly from color to color, and some color batches have more yarn per skein in terms of meters than others. When knitting, the difference is small. That's why all yarns are suitable for the same instructions.
However, make sure you buy enough yarn. The yarn used in the instructions may have more meters than the color you have chosen. Full skeins left over can be returned.
Note that the twist of the yarn causes the moistened knitting to twist at an angle. The knit is straightened by pressing and steaming.
