What is the most responsible product competition in Finland?
Finland's Most Responsible Product Competition is an annual campaign organized on the Ostavastuullisset.fi website celebrating responsible products and services. Finland's Most Responsible Product Competition fights against greenwashing by highlighting products and services that support a sustainable lifestyle.
The winner of the competition will be selected by an independent Responsibility Panel from the products selected for the Ostavastuullisset.fi website.
The competition awards products in three different categories:
- Food and Drink
- Clothing & well-being
- Home and Leisure
In addition, the public will choose their favorite in an open competition held between October 31 and November 21.

What is the Responsibility Panel?
The Most Responsible Product in Finland competition highlights genuinely responsible products and services. A sustainability panel independent of companies evaluates each product participating in the competition. All products applying to Ostavastuullissettelise.fi undergo a sustainability assessment by Infine's sustainability designers, after which the independent sustainability panel curates and approves the product.
The Buy Responsibly label is awarded to products approved by the ostavastuullissetie.fi website. The label is designed for consumers to make it easier to find responsible products. The label is awarded for one year at a time. The evaluation is a completely independent process, and approved curation cannot be purchased.

Relative responsibility
Relative responsibility means that, among the available alternatives, products and services are selected that meet a specific need in a more sustainable way.
Relative responsibility takes into account that as the responsibility of the supply changes, the outcome of the curation may also change. What is a more sustainable choice right now may not be so in the future. That is why curations are carried out annually.
The key question in thinking is whether the curated product or service is relatively more responsible than a reference product in the same category.

Experts in sustainability and sustainable living have researched and studied various aspects of sustainability, and the Sustainability Panel selects all products and services featured on the site. In addition to the responsibility panel, the public can vote for their favorite products from the Ostavastuullisset website. The public votes do not affect the responsibility panel's evaluations, but the public's favorite is its own category. You can vote between 31.10.-21.11. and for as many products as you want.
