Finland's most responsible product - Public Favorite

The 2025 "Finland's Most Responsible Product" competition has concluded — and we won. We received 8.18% of the public vote, while the runner-up, VAI-KO Hanki Beanie, received 4.67%. In total, around 4,000 votes were cast and there were over 170 responsible products participating.

Ruukki Spinning Mill's alpaca garments won by an overwhelming majority. Voters were especially charmed by their timeless design, durable quality, and focus on minimizing waste. 💚

37. Products are long-lasting. The oldest Ruukin Kehräämö product has been in use for 10 years. Additionally, responsibility has been pursued at every stage of the manufacturing process — something only a few products can claim. The production chain is also transparent; foreign manufacturers are disclosed openly and there is no greenwashing.

The garment freshens by airing and only needs to be washed a couple of times a year. It doesn’t need ironing. When the hoodie tears or wears out, the Ruukin spinning mill repairs and patches it free of charge, which extends the garment’s lifespan. The hoodie packs down very small, yet is warm in the cold and doesn’t make your skin sweat in warm weather. Perfect as travel clothing too. When the garment reaches the end of its life, it can be recycled back to the Ruukin spinning mill.
