1.Right to opt out of direct marketing

A registrant has the right at any time to prohibit direct marketing. Every email sent by Ruukin kehräämö includes a link where you can directly unsubscribe from the newsletter.

2. Right  to inspect your own data (right of access)

Everyone has the right to know what information about them is stored in the personal data register. You can request from us that your data be inspected by proving your identity.

3. Right to request correction or deletion of information 

Ruukin kehräämö removes, corrects and completes incorrect, unnecessary, incomplete, or outdated information at the request of the data subject. 

The registrant has the right to request deletion of data if the processing of the data is not necessary. We will process the deletion request, after which we will either delete the data or provide a justified reason why the data cannot be deleted.

Please note that the data controller may have a statutory or other right to refuse to delete the requested information. The data controller is obliged to retain accounting records in accordance with the period specified in the Accounting Act (Chapter 2, Section 10) (10 years). For this reason, accounting-related materials cannot be deleted before the retention period expires.

4. Right to restriction of processing

The data subject has the right to request restriction of the active processing of their personal data, for example when they dispute the accuracy of their personal data and request rectification or erasure. In such cases, those personal data may only be retained and must not otherwise be processed.

5. Right to object to the processing of personal data

The data subject may object to the processing of personal data if they believe that personal data have been processed unlawfully.

6. Right to transfer data from one system to another

To the extent that the data subject has provided information to the customer register that is processed on the basis of the data subject's consent or instruction, the data subject has the right to receive such information for themselves, generally in a machine-readable format, and the right to have those information transferred to another data controller.

7. Right to withdraw consent

If personal data is processed on the basis of the data subject's consent, the data subject has the right to withdraw their consent by notifying Ruukin kehräämö of this.  

8. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if the controller has not complied with applicable data protection regulations in its operations.

Please note that you must verify your identity for all inquiries and requests related to the register.

Personal data are processed for purposes related to managing, administering and developing the customer relationship, providing and delivering services, as well as service development and billing. Personal data are also processed for purposes necessary to investigate any complaints and other claims.

In addition, personal data are processed in communications directed at customers, such as for informational and news purposes, and for marketing, including processing personal data for purposes related to direct marketing and electronic direct marketing.

The customer has the right to opt out of direct marketing addressed to them.

The data controller processes the data itself and also uses subcontractors who process personal data on the controller's behalf and for its account.

We ensure that we always have the legal basis required by law for processing your personal data.

We process data mainly to fulfill and prepare contracts (e.g., the production and delivery of our services, customer management, handling complaints and customer feedback) and on the basis of our legitimate interest (e.g., direct marketing to our customers and product development of our services).

With your consent we will use your email address to send newsletters and marketing messages or process other information about you on the basis of your consent. If we process your data on the basis of consent, you can withdraw the consent you have given at any time. 

We may also process your data to comply with legal obligations, such as for accounting and regulatory purposes.

Other information collected with the customer's consent

We collect personal data about you directly from you when you contact us or when you make a purchase. We also collect information at events or training sessions.

We collect visitor data on our website using various tools so that we can analyze and develop the site to make it even better. The data is automatically stored in a register when a user leaves information on our website. We also collect anonymized information from social media channels using their own tools. 

As a rule, your personal data is processed by the staff of Ruukin kehräämö in the course of their work. Your data may also be disclosed to our subcontractors and partners under a written agreement. Our subcontractors and partners process personal data in an agreed manner to further lawful purposes. Examples of these are data center and cloud services for storing data, providers of the IT systems we use, and external services purchased to support sales and marketing.

We may also disclose information in other cases to fulfill contractual obligations or when required by law or by a competent authority. We may also disclose your information if we are involved in a corporate or business transaction.

We may disclose anonymized or statistical information that cannot be linked to an individual. If such information can no longer be considered personal data, we may disclose it to third parties for purposes other than those stated here.

We use service providers to process your personal data, and they may access your personal data from outside the EU/EEA, for example from Canada. We ensure that such transfers are carried out properly and lawfully in accordance with data protection legislation.

We transfer your personal data outside the EU/EEA only on one of the lawful bases listed below:

• The European Commission has decided that an adequate level of data protection is ensured in the recipient country in question.
• There is another lawful basis for transferring your personal data outside the EU/EEA, such as the Privacy Shield arrangement approved by the European Commission for the United States.

We respect the confidentiality of your personal data.

Personal data is protected from external access by firewalls, antivirus software, and personal user IDs and passwords. Access to personal data is granted only to persons authorized by Ruukin Kehräämö whose job duties require the processing of personal data.

We disclose personal data only confidentially and on a limited basis to our contractual partners, such as our subcontractors, under contractual agreements. Our contractual partners must commit to implementing adequate information security and to processing personal data lawfully in all respects. Data processors are bound by a duty of confidentiality.

Our website uses a TLS-encrypted HTTPS connection, so all personal data is protected in electronic form. In your browser you can see this from the green padlock to the left of the address bar. If any information is kept in manual (paper) form, it is stored in facilities locked against outsiders and securely destroyed.
