Our responsibility
Responsibility for us is built on numerous small and large choices throughout a product's entire lifecycle. We examine our operations holistically from the perspectives of environmental, social, economic, and administrative responsibility. We want to use valuable materials thoughtfully, know our production chain as well as possible, and manufacture products that genuinely stand the test of time and wear.
Valuable material
Our environmental responsibility begins with material choices. Alpaca fiber is a renewable natural fiber. We mainly use exceptionally fine Royal alpaca fiber in our products. Thanks to its very thin and smooth fiber structure, the fiber is naturally exceptionally soft, meaning it does not require softening chemical treatments like many wool fibers. We want to use this valuable and durable material for products that have the potential for the longest possible service life.
Timeless design
We do not design changing seasonal collections. Our Alpaca Royal collection consists of classic garments that we supplement thoughtfully and by listening to our customers' wishes. The starting points of our design are timelessness, versatility, ease of care, repairability, durability, and recyclability. We do not build our sales around discount campaigns; instead, we want to encourage considered purchasing decisions.
Responsibility for the production chain
Our products are designed in Finland. The alpaca yarns are produced in Peru, and the knitwear is manufactured in Finland and Lithuania. We strive to know our suppliers and manufacturers and to promote transparency in our production chain. The alpaca breeders living in the rugged mountain regions of Peru receive a significantly higher price for the Royal-quality alpaca yarn we use than for coarser-quality alpaca fibers. The alpaca yarns we use have Fair Trade Peru Good Practices and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certifications.
Long service life
Our responsibility for the product does not end when it is sold. We want to help our customers use and care for their products for as long as possible. With proper care, you can make our alpaca knitwear a trusted companion for years to come. For damaged products, we offer a repair service, and we accept worn-out alpaca products through our recycling service. Our goal is to keep valuable material in circulation for as long as possible.
Responsibility is continuous improvement
Corporate responsibility also means economically sustainable and transparent operations. A responsible company takes care of its employees and partners and develops its operations long-term. Responsibility work is never finished. We update our knowledge about our production chain and constantly evaluate our own operations and communication as well. We want to speak openly about what we know, what we do not yet know, and where we can do better. For us, responsibility does not mean perfection, but thoughtful choices and continuous improvement.
